We are a complete building and construction company, based in Whitby, Wellington, but working right across the greater Wellington region. At A J Wyle, you are always talking to the boss. Andrew Wylie has more than 30 years experience in building and construction, and everyday he is on the job, ensuring that the job is done right first time, and that it continues to move forward on an efficient timetable.
Andrew has a comprehensive team of contractors and subcontractors who also pride themselves on their quality and workmanship, and this is reflected in his "best practice" approach to each and every job.
Andrew Wylie
Andrew always wanted to be a builder and carpenter. He completed his education at Newlands College, and went straight into an apprenticeship with Fletchers, working by day and attending Wellington Polytechnic to complete his trade certification examinations in carpentry and joinery.He completed his apprenticeship and began as a sole trade builder, and set up AJ Wylie Construction with his wife Tania about ten years ago.
With more than 30 years experience in the industry, there isnt much that stumps Andrew. He can turn his hand to almost anything in the building line.
One day it may be a modern architecturally designed award winning new build. The next job may be restoring a 120-year old period villa. He has even been known to fix up some bungled DIY jobs too but his real passion is for building and construction.
Andrew is LBP qualified, and whilst he has over 30 years experience, he is a 'young man at heart', keeping up with modern techniques and construction materials, and recognises what brings quality and value to his projects. Andrew himself is on the tools, and he usually has a couple of tradesmen working with him, along with of course a hand-picked team of subcontractors in plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, and landscaping.
