My Vision
To create a beautiful residential Interior for a client is one of my favourite things to do. I love seeing the potential of spaces and maximising not only the looks but the functionality as well. To see a kitchen, bathroom or living space transformed and always with a bit of "WOW" factor thrown in. Getting to know my customers very well, knowing their tastes, their likes and dislikes, their experiences in life and the goals they have for their home is paramount.
About Mandy - from Changing Rooms
Ever since I owned my first home I have been obsessed with changing, improving, literally saving in some instances the interiors and exteriors of houses. I've learnt a lot through trial and error and through formal study and good old hands on experience I do a pretty good job. (See my gallery page) Changing Rooms came about as I transitioned away from the Corporate world and into the deliciousness of transforming spaces. For my clients this could be advising and preparing a house for sale or simply providing advice for clients who just don't know how to pull it all together in their homes or a specific space.
Sometimes a client just wants advice on choosing a new carpet, paint colour, soft furnishings or maybe advice on planning a new kitchen or bathroom. I have an extensive list of contacts in all of the trades whom I trust and have used over the years. More importantly being mindful of budgets, I have the knack of sourcing affordable but good quality products for my clients.Being an anti-clutter freak, I am also an expert on de-cluttering homes and embrace the psychology around being clutter-free. It is essential that I integrate each client's preferences and wishes into well-planned interiors/exteriors, with satisfying, outstanding results.
Creating Beautiful Spaces
There's something quite wonderful about creating a space that not only satisfies the eye, but brings a sense of either purpose to the room or simply calms the mind after a stressful day. While it is important to consider the colour choices, spatial planning and finishing touches, I believe it's the personality of the home owners that adds the special touches to any home. I especially enjoy staging houses so they embrace the feeling of a house being lived in and a special place and try and avoid those very obviously staged houses that we so often see online or at open homes.
